Ford & Herbrand
« on: June 07, 2012, 03:15:47 PM »
Had these for awhile and don't know the correct name for them.
Is there a site where I can look up the numbers on them?

Try this link for the Herbrand.
http://home.comcast.net/~alloy-artifacts/herbrand-van-chrome.html#herbrand-2335
Alloy artifacts is the best site I have found for old tools

Both wrenches you have are spark plug and cylinder head wrenches for the Model T.  The Ford marked wrench is factory # T 5893. The M in a circle behind it is the makers mark for Moore Drop Forging.

The interesting thing about the Herbrand wrench is the 2335 number on it.  2335 is the part # for the T 5893 wrench.  I don"t know why but some Ford tools had both a part number and a factory number.

I would say that the Herbrand wrench would be an aftermarket tool for the Model T.  The Ford marked wrench would have come with the Model T tool kit.
