Week ago I went to a huge auction. There were several tool boxes, even a stack chest and bottom. These were next to what I was waiting on. The Craftsman box with drawers is at least 30 years old, but inside was a different story. There was a new, unused set of Craftsman 1/2in. 3/8in.. wrenches, all standard and metric. The bidding started high at $50, right up to 200, then 300, and topped at 330. I think I covered the look of surprise on my face. Don't these people know that Craftsman stuff is on sale most of the time? Not only were the tools unused, but had to be 4 years old or less. The little red box was mostly Asian stuff, but the gray carry box had lots of Indestro and Thorsen. Right on top was a perfect unused Montgomery Wards 1/2in. ratchet, I think in Stainless. I bid it up to 30, went for 55 or so. Tried to get the ratchet off the buyer, he pulled it out, admired it, said huh and put it back in! Don't think he wanted to deal with me. Just amazed at the price paid for the Craftsman.
