Old, odd ratchet & sockets
« on: September 09, 2012, 05:41:43 AM »
This just showed up on my eBay, and I've never seen anything like it.  Anybody know anything about this ratchet?  I'm not bidding on it, but I am curious to know more.

Odd, I found 2 similar ratchets, one with the weird side pawls, one with that odd handle design, but both are unmarked and unidentified...
Neither had the strange socket retainer tho (bridge ratchet?)

EDIT: Perhaps patent 562689, which shows a hooked socket retainer and 2 side pawls....(from 1896, not assigned, only patent found by A. Willows)

Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.
