I have a couple of the Ferguson models. I read that the marks were intended to be used for adjustment measurements. It was the wiley users who came up with the fuel tank measurement idea. Some are marked in centimeters also. They were included in the tool kits of certain tractors and are in demand by those restoring their tractors down to the last detail.

keykeeper posted this link in the thread about a screwdriver identification. It shows a picture of the tool kit for one of the tractors (Ford N series) which included these Ferguson wrenches.
