Tip Of the Iceberg from The Weekend
« on: October 01, 2012, 03:34:31 AM »
Some folks in Waverly were nice enough(maybe desperate enough) to hold some tools for me since I ran out of money Saturday afternoon after the tool auction.  The SK tool box needs help, but for $5 is a full sized one and the tray I think is original(not in photo).  REALLY lusted after the Millers Falls 351R 1/2" drill, and the vintage C-man plane was $5.  It had a part number cast into the base.  And then there's Oily's win for the weekend, an NOS Thorsen 1416 1/4" socket set from the Dallas Tx era.  Perhaps another "gift " to a grampa that never got used??

Like I said, tip of the iceberg...more to come as time allows....

That is one heck of a beautiful Thorsen set.  I would say from the early Dallas days, most probably somewhere between '73 - '80 (it has blow molded case, Dallas, and II markings).
"FORGED IN THE USA" myself.  Be good to your tools!
