That's why I like Lanox, it doen't stay wet/sticky if you only lightly coat it or wipe it off but it still leaves a working film there. Also it doesn't contain any hydrocarbons (refinery) products. (Non aerosol that is)

I have a can of Fluid Film that my dad got as a free sample at a trade show.

I have a strong aversion to that stuff, mostly because I sprayed it on a few items, and when I picked them back up, they weren't dry, and I got a full handful of greasy, sticky cr*p on my hands.

Lord, what have I done that you tempt me with statements like this?

I thought udder balm and bag balm were pretty much synonymous, but the 10 year old canister of udder balm at our house nees to get used up first.  it's amazing how little of it is needed per tool and saturating an old cotton sock will do dozens of tools in a single session.

I remember LPS from the Audiophile days.  It came in 3 viscosities, hence the 1/2/3 on the cans.  I think the techs used it for cleaning volume control wipers on the expensive McIntosh units as well as the Japanese stuff that got dirty over time.
