Visited the antique mall.   Figured they might have restocked, I was right.    Found several things I wanted but the asking prices were just too high, for me that is.  First I spied a Bemis&Call  S-handled adjustable.   Really large head on wrench of comparable 12 inch size.  Then I noticed the jaws.  The fixed jaw was machined back at a 15degree angle.   The movable jaw has serrations on it, so its a pipe wrench, neat, but pricey for me.   In a bucket was a 15 inch pipe wrench by Smith, with the Perfect handle, overall good, but again pricey.  Great, smooth and straight drawknife, no hammering on the back, ever, but $20 when I usually get them for $4.   Stuck a Norton oil stone, in the box, in the cart too.    Pulled out an excellent Fairmount 9 inch monkey wrench, the kind that usually says auto on the handle.  Then a bag of Bonney sockets, from the 40s or older.  Then a vise, Littlestown just like one I got in the summer, except this bolts to the bench and the previous one swivels, so I have a pair.  The best deal of the night was a Husky tool box, with tote.   With a Husky half inch drive rather, extensions, and sliding T handle, and what looks like a set of Husky sockets!   Figured for the price it needed a new home!    Was a good warm feeling driving home.

Four bucks?!  What prices do you find on scorps?

Okay, pictures, and it was cold outside too, digital camera moving slow.  The Husky set looks like its been in a time capsule, I'd date it to the 50s?

Sockets, extensions and slider were made by New Britain.  I'm not sure about the ratchet or speed wrench, but wouldn't be surprised if they were also.

Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

John,

Could you take a close up of the other side of the ratchet?  I've seen those sockets and extensions all over the place, but the ratchet is new to me.

Nice find.  I really like this set.  I picked up a 3/8" version of that ratchet months ago.

Lauver, the back is rather plain, with a deeply stamped:V-41, and yes thats a Stanley 36, a nine inch, with nickel plated vials.

I have that same speed wrench. I was sorting tools last night and came across it.
