So it says we can talk about most things here. I had a kidney stone zapped by a laser on Monday because it was 8MM in size and there was no other way to remove it. So now everytime i go to the can, it is pretty painful. Doctor says this is normal and will get better in a few days. When i had the surgery they also stuck a stent in me and will be removing it next monday. Anybody else have this done and did you have lots of pain also ? I am almot sorry i had the surgery.

Evil...I have not had the procedure but I know enough about it to advise you to give your doctor's office a call back if the pain control strategy is not working. He can only re-evaluate the situation if he (or she) knows about it. Do not just wait it out. The wheel that squeaks gets the grease is very good medical advice, especially these days. There are many variables that only your doctor/surgeon can know. The one thing he doesn't know is how you feel, unless you tell him. Tell him, several times if necessary. Pain control is always a post procedure goal.

It's been pretty rough so far. It's like someone screwing a #16 auger bit into my kidney when i use the  potty.

Twice. Had gall stones also. I think the kidney stones are worst.
Of all the things I've lost , I miss my mind the most

Ohh my, had them twice. Once you have them, you recognize the pain the minute it comes. I start pounding down distilled water like a fish. Never had to do the zap thing.
That was 10 +years ago. My new diet and drink water all the time I haven't had a rematch.

My dad started getting them when he was about the age I am now (mid 50's), so I have that to look forward to. I do know that he'd a rather had a double root canal than pass a rock.

This week has been horrible. I now wish i had waited longer to have the surgery. I go in to the Dr's office tomorrow and get a stent removed that they put in me when they blasted the stone. On top the kidney stones, i've caught a cold. I am gonna get cleaned up and go to our urgent care clinic. Thank God they are open on weekends. I wanna thank all for your replies.
