Picked up a couple of nice items last week end, a pretty day, riding around with the windows down, listening to John Hiatt - Crossing Muddy Waters turned up a wee bit !!

I have been looking for a large pair of channellocks and came across this Powr Kraft set, made in Japan but looks like there is plenty of life left in them. That's a Single Offset Blackhawk wrench, some basic wirestrippers, vintage tapes, a wooden handle for some type of multi tool, and a Warranted Superior saw.

The winner is the Germantown Master Builder hatchet, I picked it up and the balance and feel were just right! Cleaned the roofing tar off and it looks good.

Happy Thanksgiving to all !

Nice haul.

When I was a kid, Dad sent my brother out to get a tool for something we were working on, and he came home with a pair of Channellocks like the ones you found.  Dad was a little upset at my brother for buying such a useless thing, but it solved the problem at hand, and Dad later admitted he used them a lot.

I have a pair of some off-brand, made in Spain, not terribly good; I'm always on the lookout for a good brand of that size of plier.

I used those giant channel locks to push back disc brake calipers.
Also to pop the tire valves out of the rim.
Couldn't be without them now.
Of all the things I've lost , I miss my mind the most

I use my "huge" channel-locks all the time.
There are things that this tool will only do.
No others would do!   Amen.

I got a red gripped a pair of New Britains several years ago at a local neighborhood  yard sale.  He wouldn't come off the $4 price....

The tool auction I went to today had Channe           llocks in spades, including two pr. of EASCO(Japanese made ones no less) Brought $25.  I snagged a semi large pr. of Powr-Kraft in a pliers flat for like $4.  What can I say, I'm pliers-poor now......and tool-poor eternally!!!!  See the auction-specific post for more details.
