Button's Patent plier SCORE!! Warning: TOOL GLOAT!!!

Sometimes it pays to rat around those out of the way, dark little junk/resale shops.

I've been looking for quite a while for a nice set of 10" Button's Patent pliers. I had a pair of Utica's once, but sold them on eBay.

So, anyway I'm ratting around in this little place, seeing overpriced crap I wouldn't throw away. Run across a couple cardboard flats of tools on some shelves. Hey, I've been looking for a pair of these.



Priced very reasonable, in good condition, nice jaws, what the heck.



I turn to walk away, and looked at the other side.



Yeah, they came home with me!!!

Sorry, had to gloat a little. I never find much of anything good anymore.

Wow! Great find.  Even a great logo. If I found those someone would have used the side to drive staples &  mutilate the logo.

Cool!  There's just something about these Button patent pliers.  The first pair I ever found had been forged into scrolling pliers.  Then I found an unmodified pair...  Good find!

Most every pair of this style I have found have been in poor shape, with heavy pitting, chewed up jaws, and loose joint.

Needless to say, finding this pair made my weekend! Being Keen Kutter marked was just icing on the cake!!
