They work good, too.  I'm surprised they seem to be rare.  I've seen several, and I've got one, maybe two.

the one pictured is somewhat i call somewhat more rare, it has the western states marketing info. i been collecting chalk lines for some 15 year and ain't seen a eastman with this info on it.  i got a pic around here of my collection i'll try to post.  thanks for posting.

I'd love to see your collection.  Haven't seen a collection of chalk lines, but I've run across a number of the Eastman patterns in the past.  The evolution of the chalk line is interesting.  Was there a "missing link" between the enclosed reel and the old spool lines that you drew over pieces of chalk?  I've found 3 or 4 unused chalks.

I remember my dad using the 1/2 globes of chalk and what I think was a much thinner string. Along with Branson I also have several of the unused chalks.

I've found 3 or 4 unused chalks.

Wow.  I didn't know anybody still used them.  Does the store stock the green ones, or only the blue?

Talk of colors got me thinking so I dug mine out and I have 3 that are a light rust color, or, somewhere between pink and brown.
