That is a bone saw. For butchering duty.
Nice small portable size, and I like that handle!

They get bigger from here. Some of them have 30" blades!

Ah yes, a butchers saw, good name on it too.   Delighted to see someone recognizes those initials, there is an old steel bench at work with the same ones, the young guys had made up all kinds of weird names from them, yes I straightened them out.

Thanks for showing!  Great saw, and with the Quarter Master marking... Well, that's the finishing touch for sure.

That scale looks like a Hanson Cotton scale. I have one somewhere around here, but no picture. Looks like this one-

The scoop is a coal shovel.
Could have been used to shovel out the ashes of a fireplace or woodstove as well.
But coal is what they had in mind when they made them.
Check it with a magnet. Most were brass plated iron or steel.

Hanson scale huh? I would have bet Chatillion.
   Shows to go ya. heh

Scott my good fellow* the shovel is brass plate on iron. Never thought to check it. My grands used it to shovel ash from the fire place. made by my grand father. Most of the old iron from under the bed are just pieces that I have had passed down. Rarely have I scowered for pieces to collect. Most of them have a connection from the past. My family has been a hands on lot for many generations. My father and I turned wrenches at our garage starting in the 50's.

Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.
