Old Phart
« on: January 14, 2013, 08:36:12 PM »
This looks like it could be a real pioneer phart.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-ALUMINUM-HANDLE-H-D-SMITH-PERFECT-HANDLE-FORD-SCREWDRIVER-SHIP-FREE-/200877016947?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ec5340773

I would guess done by someone at work.
Worn out screwdriver, re-worked the tip which shortened it, and cast a blob around the blade.
Some time with a file, etc., and 'voila'......phart! (pardon me)

I like it!   Be fun to use on a cold night in the rain along a muddy road wouldn't it?

Someone posted another here from ebay  a few months back. Seeing another one confirms my guess that these were Ford in house repairs during WWII when they couldn't get new ones.
