i THINK MY GRANDMOYHER HAD ONE OF THESE HANGING ON THE SIDE OF THE STOVE ALONG SIDE THE SHAKER HANDLE. iT COULD BE USED TO REMOVE THR SHAKER PLATES just a guess my memory aint what it used to be   bob w.
