Never pass over Jims auctions. He does sell some spectacular stuff, cheap, on occasion.
Like many of us, he personally loves handmade high grade tools.
  The standard "factory collector" world, does not.
So he gets and sells spectacular tools for very little sometimes.
I got my Christmas present from Jim.  I scraper made of burl wood and generous with the brass too. I love it.

Oh, he occasionally makes drop dead tools himself. I have seen them. Wonderful work
In fact he may have made this Coes from a ruined example he picked up.

I actually held this wrench in my hand today.  And yes it is "stunning".  Will ask him tomorrow if he made the handle himself.

Not a Coes, but it appears to be a nice example of a craftsmans project that is now part of my collection. I think a picture of it is also in the un 6 listings. Steel body & movable jaw, brass adjusting nut with ivory handle. About 5 1/2 inches long.

Jim did indeed make the handle himself.  It originally was a very old billiard ball.

I took a picture of my wife holding it...which is as close as she is going to get to bringing it home.  It definitely wasn't coming back with us, not that I wouldn't have liked to bring it.
