I have other sockets of this type, rusty, crud encrusted, and well rounded out. Just found these 3, lots of paint remaining, 11/16, 7/8, 1-inch, Hargrave. The 1 inch has some use, the other two not so much. Wagon builders sockets, deep well for extended threaded rod? Bet they have been together a long time.

Yes, for square nuts. These were in a glass case of high dollar Stanley and KeenKutter tools. The price was good, which means it was in my reach. At a large antique mall we get to about once a month. Price was under $20.

I personally find mine by scanning eBay and Google searches of old magazines...

Not sure where Stan found the ad above. I just added the correct tags so the photo (which resides in his flickr account) would display here in the thread...

I use the Firefox browser with the Image Picker add-on.

That will save an entire page of one of those magazines from Google Book->Magazines searches. Then use any photo editor to crop, edit & save only the ad in question:

One more thing: For some reason I don't understand, when the image of the page is first saved to your PC (or wherever) by Image Picker, it is sometimes not saved automatically as an image file (or any other file type). When that happens, just rename the file as a JPG and all will be well...
