One of my sets, NB
« on: May 30, 2013, 11:23:44 PM »
The bigger set  is my collection of New Britain wrenches, the double groove series, approx. 1946-1952.   Many of these have come my way through people here.   Still looking for the 3/8 combo, and whatever else comes my way.  Most of these sets don't exceed the one inch size, however AA says they went on to at least 1-1/4.    Sliding down this slope, the other set, the raised panel NB wrenches started coming around.   They date to the late 30s as far as I can tell.   Strangely enough  I've only found one combo wrench in this style.  Have a near full set of tappet thin wrenches in both series.   Looks like I'll be dedicating an entire tool box to these soon.  Thanks again to those that have chipped in.    Now to dig out those old Craftsman my dad got in 1947.

john k,

New Britain, the new Plomb Pebble...

Very nice wrench collection; the narrow raised panel is classic industrial design. Kind of reminiscent of Blue Point Supreme but with a strong industrial look.

When I figure out where half of my underlined Craftsman are hiding, will check for duplicates, may have one or two.
