Does anyone have the D-l set of Duro-Chrome sockets? I got this set today and the sticker inside says "Tools of Progress" but at the bottom of this page http://home.comcast.net/~alloy-artifacts/duro-indestro-p2.html there is an almost identicle set but the sticker says "Super-Quality". Are there two sets of these for that time? All my sockets have the D-l on them. And the 2 8pt sockets have the S on them too. The 2 on the top right are the same type of sockets but with no markings and the hex sockets only have the size printed on them. The box is 9 3/4" x 3 1/4".

AA's dating on these is weak at best.

It is interesting to note that the name of the 1933 worlds fair was "Century of Progress "

Catalogs in the 30's use"Tools of Progress" , but I dunno when the first use is....

Either way, I would lean more to pre-war for your set.
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Thanks Rusty, I was thinking they were earlier like the page says but the olive drab color on the box kinda threw me off. Everything seemed to be painted that color around WW2.

Tools of Progress was a trademarked logo first used in 1934
