This company is close to our office and they made the local news for this plumb bob that they were commissioned to build.

Now that's cool. I would love to see that in person.
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

It is , and it is nicely done.

I wonder which poor slob got the job of centering the table precisely below the point tho....

Plumb bob trivia: If you place a plumb bob on each side of a 60 story building, from the top to the ground, the strings will not be parallel.
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

That is a heckuva unique piece.   I wonder how high the ceiling will be it is suspended from?    In the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, decades ago, there was a plumb bob suspended about 4 stories in an open stair well.   The tile inlaid (point of the compass) it was hanging over, was several feet across.   It constantly moved, in a somewhat figure 8 motion, the sign said it was the movement of the earth that made it swing.   How big was the lathe that wooden one was turned on!
