wooden tool... possibly leather worker tool

Not sure what this is. I'm thinking possibly something to do with leather working based on the other tools that were in the collection. It's 12" long, all wood except for the hard rubber cup on tip. Anyone know what it could be?

In total agreement with Papaw in this one - I prefered to use one with a plain handle, but it still managed to run out of my hand after half a dozen turns...

I agree also. Interesting to note the "crown" on the corrugated part of the handle maybe both those features stoped that problem!? The ones I used tapered downwards and you had to keep repositioning your hands!
