Mystery set of tools

I inherited all my dad's tools and this set in the picture is a complete mystery to me.  Can anyone tell me what they are and what they do?

What kind of work did he do? Some of those pieces resemble tools I've seen used on British motorcycles. Other pieces look like home made pullers. Interesting.

Yes, some look like parts of a puller set. Others don't.

Does the 2 pins on the knurled handle fit into the 2 holes in those pieces with the collars? is the end of those pieces tapered? maybe for lapping?

Many years ago my dad and I made a set of tools to remove the valves from a water pump. These look as though they were made for a similar type of job - home made for a one-off use, and without the item they were used on almost impossible to guess. However, someone may be able to give the answer if they are similar in form to the factory made tools that would have been used for the same job... Good luck on that one !!!!

Steelj ! I've done some checking. Did your dad ever work on or own a Triumph motorcycle? You have a number of Triumph tools. Crankcase parting tool - upper right. Tappet guide block punch on the left (there are a pair of tappet guide blocks). Valve guide removal tools at bottom. Two pullers - crankshaft pinion extractor (upper in photo), camshaft pinion extractor (lower in photo).
I would suggest finding a service manual online and looking at the Service Tool chapter. See what's there - you may have more Triumph tools kicking around the garage.

Not everyone is on-line as often, nor as keen as some of the rest of us. To answer Al's question, dad never had a M/C  - the example I gave of water pump tools was to illustrate how home-made tools for a one-off job turn up occasionally and stump even the best of us..
