older and newer rat.

This forum must accept the blame. I had collected wrenchs and planes for several years but had no interest in ratchets. Then Tool Talk piqued my interest and I started keeping ratchets a couple of years ago. Man do they multiply. Pictured are my No 89 and No 90.
The shiny one is a Guimarin Gem and is relatively new (1975 patent)
The refrigeration one is a Walden Worcester and is relatively old and it followed me home last night.

I picked up one of the 'Gem' wrenches at a Flea Mkt. in Pennsylvania several years ago.  It was the first one I had seen.  Yours is the second.  This doesn't look like any better design than the 'Wizard' wrench upon which it appears to have be based.
