J O Mfg Co Torque Wrench
« on: October 23, 2013, 08:08:10 AM »
Looking for info on this 1/4" drive 100 inch/pound torque wrench brought to the office by a co-worker. It belonged to his grandfather, then his father, and is being used even now in automatic transmission work. It is probably WWII vintage and may have been an aircraft tool.
Marked-
J O MFG CO
SOUTHGATE CAL.

Other marks are
                 J O
TRADE-----       -------MARK
                LINE

And    JOMI
           100

It is not a ratchet, and has a knurled band to set to lock or unlock the torque adjustment. Scale is 0 - 100 by 10s. Length is 8 inches.

I found a patent on DATAMP for a drill with an adjustable head by the J O Mfg Co.

I have found some old forum discussions saying these were mlitary tools, and I see J O -Line is still around-

I don't think this one is it- http://www.datamp.org/patents/displayPatent.php?pn=2734411&id=42074

And none of these are old enough-
