More slim pickings

These tools were gathered from 3 different places Saturday. Two antique malls and one estate sale. Total outlay was under $20.
The 10" adjustable is marked SERVESS CHROME ALLOY 10" on one side and FULL DROP FORGED on the other. It was made in JAPAN.
The curved adjustable is a standard KEYSTONE 6" in good condition with gray paint that will be removed.
The alligator has only owner's marks that appear to be A.E.RYMER.
The pliers are only marked with FORGED STEEL USA on both sides and have a peened swivel rather than a nut and bolt.

There is an A. E. Rymer listed in the 1940  Census, in Austin City. Unfortunatly the Occupation is listed only as 'Foreman'.....

Servess was True Value's low end brand name...

Austin City Texas? Interesting since the wrench was in an estate of a couple that had not lived here very long. Perhaps they were from Austin, Texas. Too bad they are both gone now and the estate was sold by an estate sales company, not the family.


I like the adjustable as an example of the quality of some Japanese tools as opposed to the other Asian tools we see these days.

The pliers are only marked with FORGED STEEL USA on both sides and have a peened swivel rather than a nut and bolt.

I have 3 or 4 of those, regular and needle nose.  Wonder if we can find who made them.

That triangular mark I have seen before, I think it is on AA somewhere (MTF??)

Pretty sure I have a different type of pliers with that triangular marking. I couldn't find any info on them.
