John Pilgrim is the Proto / Plvmb Catalog man. He's a member here but I can't seem to find him listed. I'd send him a PM but ........

Well, I had a bit of time to look & it does seem the 1949 catalogue in the link (4922M) might be the first issued as "Proto Tools" as opposed to "Plomb Tool Co." I wouldn't absolutely swear it, but it's likely...

There seems to be a 1948 catalogue, but it still reads "Plomb Tool Co." with "Proto Tools" mentioned below...
