I picked up this 10" extension today at my friend's mom's store for a buck.  It's a 1/4 drive Craftsman with a plastic thing at the end that apparently moves to allow the ball to drop - so you can change sockets.
But it doesn't move.
Which way is supposed to move to allow the ball to drop?  You can see the plastic pin in the end and it's flush with the end.  Will the slide button move toward the socket or away?

Slide should move towards the ratchet end away from the socket.
