Here is a few pictures of my small engine / tool shop. i have about 25 small gas engines ranging from 1945 to about 1982. A lot of tools are in the orange buckets waiting to be sort out. I have a hand crank hoist to lift the heavier engines on to my one of three work benches. I hang a lot of tools from overhead due to lack of floor space.

But I think you need more bit braces!

If you put your hammers closer together you could double the count.

it looks like the space between the hammers were intentional,
it leaves room to add certain types when purchased, next to the like types.

some people dream of having a place to tinker, you made it happen and
I believe that you are enjoying every minute that you are in there.

Nice tight and organized shop.   Looks like you have just enough to fill it, and still have working space.   

 That shop is my world. I will have to move everything into the garage when i finish cleaning it. I am going motor hunting this weekend and things are going to get more cramped. My garage is 3 times the size of my shop. I want to do some wood working so i need more room. I want to build a mini bike, so i need more room. I want more engines, so i need more room.

Is it some sort of carpeting?

It is a product called cement.

i always liked those old engines,are they mostly b&s?,do you repair for others?.....

I have about 15 Briggs, 4 Tecumsehs, 4 Clintons, 2 Wisconsins and 1 Sunbeam. I just collect them. I no longer work on engines except for myself. I worked on engines for 32 years with somebody standing behind me trying to tell me how to do my job. I now do it for fun.

Nice shop. My bit brace shelf looked like yours till a few weeks ago. I got afraid of the weight and moved them to a 4 ft x 8ft wall. Was surprised that there were over 50 on that shelf. Looks like your shelf may be more substantial. I had a 1x4 with several shelf brackets supporting it. I envy you because some floor is showing.

My bit braces are hanging from the roof. They are suspended by two hanging ropes tied to a 3/8 drive Mac extension about 3 feet long. I do need to move some stuff into the garage. I get a lot of stuff free off of Craig's list. I also buy a lot of stuff from the Habitat Restore store. I like old machines. Electric and gas powered.
