Yes they are, what else but Nut Crackers.

No no no. The first one, exhaust pipe pliers, the other two are hose clamp pliers. I wonder how many versions of nut crackers there are out there.
A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.

Northwoods

I really appreciate the multiplied force of the middle one.
The ORIGINAL Northwoods.

The one on the right ( http://www.datamp.org/patents/search/advance.php?pn=627401&id=35069&set=1 ) has often been "guessed" to be an adjustable pipe wrench.
A while back I had a couple pages of nut cracker patents in the MVWC Newsletter -- they were all ones which looked enough like an alligator wrench to warrant clarification.

Plyerman

I'll add mine to the list. They came to me by way of member Shopdweller about a year ago. The compound plier linkage puts a great deal of mechanical leverage on the jaws. The tradeoff though is that the jaws have very little travel.

A pretty complex device for simply cracking nuts, but cool nonetheless.

My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

I just re-found this nutcracker the other day.  Marked "STAINLESS ITALY".  Very precise joint and smooth action.  And sleek.
