I know very little about these I believe the one is a molding plane tool of some sort but I'm not sure if it's missing a piece or if I just don't know how to use it. If it is missing a piece identifying the tool would be helpful so I could try to find a replacement part for it. The other tool I have no idea of it's use or name it appears to have small metal barbs on it and you can adjust the distance between the barbs using the knob. Thanks in advance for any information. :) Photos are attached.

Hello, And welcome to Tool Talk. The second one is a Mortising Gage, with brass trim/hardware, very nice!! The first one leads me to guess that it may be an attachment for a motor driven moulding machine? The cutters , I am guessing, should be in pairs. Regards, Lou

Thanks I just figured out it was a mortise tool from poking around on these forums. :) I am still unsure on the other piece though if it was for a motor driven machine it doesn't seem to be here anymore, trying to find an example of it online

And, even if you had the machine those cutters went to, you might not want to run it - it looks unbalanced and more than a bit scary.

But, yes, nice mortise gauge.

From the size, probably from a large and older shaper, see things of this type over on OWWM,  guys restoring old power machines there that weigh tons.
