Hello, I found a similar wrench on AA, but they show it with XENEL on the shank (handle), This one does not have that marking. It does have 1/4   3/16 on one side of the heads, and BONNEY MADE IN U.S.A and 2551 on the other side of the heads. There is also a raised A.V. on the shank (handle) under the head with the Bonney label.Curious about the lack of the XENEL, and the date code, AA only shows a V.  Overall length is 8". Thanks, Lou

I have a Bonney Zenel DOE- 3/16 x 7/32 . It is marked ZENEL (with a line through it ) , Bonney Made in Usa, H10 , and has a raised EU on the shank under the 7/32 mark.

The AV is a date code. First letter is the month, in this case January. The second is the year, this would represent 1930 or 1944 do it isn't a Zenel which fell in between those dates. I would suggest that it is a 1944 date wrench which would explain why it doesn't have any markings on it(think war time), other wise it would be a Chrome Vanadium wrench for 1930.

Might not be 47 Skip, it may be 33 which is the first year for Zenel I believe.

33 because  "made in USA"?

That's one that's hard to call the made in USA went away over a couple of year span.

Hello, AA shows a similar tool, under Specialty Tools, and is calling it a Brake Wrench. Mine has no markings on the handle/shank, and I now have an idea about when it was manufactured. Thanks for all of the info, Lou

Hello, Are you sure about yours being a 2561? I stared at the one I have for a long time not sure if the 3rd number was a 5 or a 6. I took some hydrogen peroxide on a Q-tip, did a good job of cleaning out the stamp, and I am 99.9% sure it reads 2551. Just checking. Regards, Lou

Hello, Skip. Thanks for the reply, and the great photos. The stamp on mine is not as crisp as the one that you have. I tried to get a better look at mine, using a camera, and now it looks more like a 2561. Does that mean the 2561 is  a Brake Wrench, like the 2551? I stand corrected, and am more confused than ever!!!! Regards, Lou

I believe your right Skip (a typo). I just looked thru a bunch of Bonney Cats and only see the 2561 so there must not have been a 2551.
