Yes it is a nice hammer. Bought cheap at a garage sale out of a box full of Chinese hammers.

Might have to do with the head being in rough condition and a non original handle. I know I wouldn't pay more than that for similar.
A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.

I think someone did a good job of re-handling it. Proto handles had an octagon shaped hand grip. 
A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.

Only reason I would pass it up is I have two already,  good tool at a good price.

I believe the bottom half also was painted green and if I remember they had a "dimpled" handle.

Fairmont 161-g?
I bought a box of broken handle fairmount 20-25 years ago 15-20$ sold a bunch off for 15$ with a new handle. Some go high some go low and the rest are in between.  They made some polished one for a aniversery (what year?)  I kept them!

I sell many items for the 9.99 opening bid or that do not sell at all  that have several or many watchers.  I think a lot of watchers are just people who have one that want to see the sale price.
