Tagged along with the bride today checking out yard sales, found an interesting
(to me anyway) pair of pliers. They measure seven inches overall, and had some
slight surface rust, but like me, with a little WD40 and a scrub pad, cleaned up
pretty good.
A lot of the stamping was worn away but there was enough to do some research.
Turns out they were made by the H. D. Smith & Co, a tool manufacturing company
based in Plantsville, Connecticut, founded by Henry D. Smith in 1850. They carry
patent dates of June 9, 1914, and  February 20, 1917. Nice to find a one-hundred
year old tool that still functions.
Here's a picture I pulled of the the web, too lazy to photograph it myself!

Plyerman

I like the pliers. I like the name too. (Makes the juvenile delinquent inside me grin, hehe)
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

Yadda

Love the name! Perfect for offset pliers.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....
