Another ghost from the haunted places in my garage. I researched it but found nothing
definitive.  There is a W or M in an octagon(?), and a 6 or a 9, depending which way
you look at it. I believe it's of 19th or 20th century vintage.

While researching it I found another example of a workman's ingenuity; a corn cob
handle!

Sore looks like a Girard to me- The Girard Wrench Manufacturing Company was a maker of adjustable wrenches active from 1875 through at least the 1920s. The company was located in Girard, Pennsylvania.
BUT- Yours has the M on it which usually denotes Moore made it.

I have nothing useful to add, but I really like that handle
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

I was also leaning toward Moore drop Forge in Springfield, Massachusetts

6 or 9  ???  I would say 6  as the wrench is closer to 6 inches than it is to 9 inches.

Moore drop forge is an M in a circle. I don't know if I've seen that mark before. Moline may be?
A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.

EVILDR235

Maybe a W and not a M.       Walworth wrench maybe ?

Yadda

I've seen corncobs used for lots of things.  This is another first.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

That's most certainly an M and not a W, and like you said, it's not Moore.

If it's not Moore, is it Less?
