Hello, The sockets are 1/2" drive, appears to be the makings of a set, 6 & 8 point, these led a rough life!! The bases are tapered, I haven't seen these before. The last photo is the remainder of what was in the box. Craftsman, Cornwell, Hallowell, Herbrand, Bonney,Indestro, all  USA wrenches, plus the Leviton plug ends& the Stanlet Screwdriver!!!!!!!! Interesting sockets, never seen any thing like that before. Can't see any reason for putting a taper on that end????

gibsontool

On second thought, if your hands and the tools are covered in oil and grease it may make it a little easier to change sockets.

EVILDR235

My guess the reason for the taper on the sockets was to save money by buying less steel to make said sockets. Or it may have been a design so people would recognize the brand by sight.

Probably to lighten them up. They look like a pretty good chunk of steel.

Those sockets remind me of Bog sockets with out the knurling.

Nice haul, I'm jealous.  Any other markings on the Lockheed sockets?

Yes, they are Bog.  I have several sets of those.  Some unmarked and likely made for Western Auto, some marked with a Star stamp, and some say Bog Mfg.

Hello, Thanks for all of the info!!!!!!!  The Bog sockets are only marked for size. Former owner weld repaired 3 of these, and one still has a cracked wall!!!!!! Regards, Lou
