I have a growing collection of old small cast iron gas engines. Who else here likes little engines ? Mine range from a half horsepower to 9 horsepower. Most have cast iron blocks and most are Briggs and Stratton. My oldest engine is a 2 stroke 1929 Maytag kick start washing machine engine. I also have 2 Briggs and Stratton kick start washing machine engines. I also have Clinton, Reo, Wisconsin,Sunbeam, Johnson Iron Horse and Tecumseh engines. I have appox 42 engines and still looking. I like the  Briggs engines because most parts are easy to get and they work on and run forever. Like many collectors I like old machines and tools and parts and repair catalogs. I would like some old flywheel hit and miss engines, but they just cost to much anymore. I hope someday to find a small affordable metal lathe to make replacement parts.

Not a collector but I can appreciate your interest.  I bought and sold a walk behind garden tractor with a Clinton cast iron engine.  I recently tried to find (didn't find) a photo of an old cruiser bicycle with a Maytag engine beautifully installed.  Very classy, in black and ivory white with belt drive.

I once had a David Bradley (Sears) walk behind tractor with a snow thrower.  It was the deluxe model with reverse.  I built a frame to hold a 3' wide garden tractor front plow blade, worked great for garden chores.  I sold it for some reason.  I would like to get another one someday.

Most of those David Bradley tractors around here in un restored condition start at about $200.00  Those one wheel models with sheet metal grill/hood look neat. I would just like to have the sheet metal to make a cool go kart.

Neat stuff made to last forever. I have a Planet Junior wrench hanging on the wall in the garage. Just picked up two more Briggs engines this evening. Aluminum block 14 cubic inch and a 17 cubic inch. 1960's vintage stuff. If my grand daughter comes over tomorrow, I will have her post some pictures of them. I also found another BOG socket skipskip.

wrenchguy, I enjoyed your videos, just watched the planer doing the walnut & oak. as for the oil holes, some old timers whittled
wooden plugs for them to keep out the dust.

  also, is that your Briggs BMG inboard engine ?   I had never heard one run before, thanks, Frank

yes it is.  u say u never heard 1 run........ have u seen any other than mine?
