I just picked up this beautiful vise from a competitor estate buyer in my area.  Tools are not his thing so I usually get a call when other buyers think they have something old that I might like and how I like this vise (even though the slide is broken :(  )...  But I need some help on the Patents cause I just cant figure them all out.

The original patent 1854 is a Parker patent of the entire vise...
May 28, 1867 B.F. Perkins Vise handle holder...
November 26, 1867 ??
December 17, 1867 ??

Yes, I think some of the slide's broken off: the slide's usually longer than the screw, or at least the same length.

Dec. 10, 1867.  71885.   There was no Parker related patent on December 17 that I know of.

I looked a little more and found 71,885 issued on December 17 for a spring loaded device that will hold the handle in a position. It wasn't assigned to Parker but that doesn't mean they didn't use it. It functions the same as the May 28th patent.
I guess they were covering all the bases.
