I picked up this vintage Craftsman No. R 5524 Solid Stock Pipe Dies in the original box. It's for 1/2 & 3/4.  I thought it was too cool too leave at an estate sale.

Very nice.  I imagine the tricky part of using that design was getting the cutting die aligned with the guide collar.  Well, that and using it if you had to cut threads on a piece of installed pipe or in other tight spots.
