What Luck.
Been orphaned twice in four months.
Gotta check my karma.
I don't care if we gots to start over again. It's the group that matters. And our group is World Wide. Think about that.
It's the friendships and sharing of knowledge that matter.
Yea not being able to check in SUCKS.
And the withdrawals are painful.
But that's life. What doesn't kill ya' makes you stronger.
A special thank you to Papaw for his hospitality and generosity for letting us post here. It will never be forgotten.

Hi ALL !

Missing you guys, emailed Steve he sent me this link.... A good man he is !

Thank you Steve..

So firmware... is the bad actor here.  Was thinking that, because the outage has been long.
I had heard power failure, and if that occurred as a firmware update was in progress .. a very, very nasty thing to recover from.

All the best to Rusty, cause he definitely has his hands full.... for now...

I made a Facebook page for thouse that want to keep in touch.
Just search for "Machinist Gazette" and send an "Add Member" request.
This is just a place holding backup till we can get up and running again.

Great... Probably the one guy here who doesn't have a Facebook.

You're not alone Shawn. I had one friend commit suicide over a comment by a 16 year old girl. He was a Viet Nam Vet. I refuse to even acknowledge Facebook exists.

Also not a FB  visitor, I build personal firewalls to keep that kind of thing at bay. Guess my back ground for the last 15 years has influenced that decision.

I got the dog a facebook page, So I could use the facebook market place. Lots of people sell on FB and nowhere else.

Kinda funny when "Lucy" texts them and then I show up.... the look on some of them is priceless.

I, too, am not a FBer. Nice to have several tool sites so we can keep in touch in times like this.

Hi guys, I finally got over here. I've been extremely busy at work, plus I've been getting involved with my son's tractor pulling hobby. I'll be doing my first competition pull in a couple of weeks. These tractors are kinda nuts on power, and they are nothing like any tractor I've ever been on before - and I've been on a lot of 'em!

I also want to thank Papaw for his wonderful hospitality and allowing us to convene here and exchange news. Being able to do so in invaluable!

I might just consider creating an email group on google groups or groups.io where everyone can connect via email without actually publicly sharing their email addresses. It would be a place where we can keep everyone connected without taking up space from someone else. If there is enough interest in doing so, I can certainly set it up.

In the mean time, I am just biding my time, and hope to see MG up and running again in the near future.
