I recently picked up this quick adjust pipe wrench, no markings anywhere. Try to find out something about it but I have come up empty so far. The ferrule at the top of the handle looks like it is copper, the end cap at the bottom of the handle is a steel cup that looks to be stamped and it is peened onto the end of the main bar. I have looked through all 3 of Shockley's books and Copes and I don't see anything close. Has anyone seen another?

That's new to me, never seen one before. Good find.

Northwoods

How could someone make a tool that cool and not stamp that bar!
The ORIGINAL Northwoods.

Never have run across that one, is it possible it is a one off?

Yadda

I've seen similar more recent tools.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

I had a look thru my box of pipe wrenches and there are a few that operate with a similar spline or gear rack but nothing identical.
Becklin from Seattle wash. had one (page 59 in Copes book) which is sort of similar but on page 64 in the Cope book there is one that is close, made by the Best wrench co from Chicago. Yours may have been a fore runner to this. Just a thought. Jim
