I'm a big fan of cosmoline too. I have a few items that I refuse to clean it off of. Here is a perfect handle Trimo.

Got this screwdriver from a friend who does house clearances.
No makers mark and no rivets. Length 5¾".
German ?

Hard to tell by the picture, but is the end a cap that screws on? There are German ones almost exactly like H D Smith, ones that have a hex shaft, and ones similar to yours. Here is one on Ebay that looks like yours. Another question- Is the wood held on with rivets, or is it one piece and end on by the end cap ?

Mine is equal to the one on eBay:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-WOOD-INLAY-HANDLE-FLAT-BLADE-ANTIQUE-SCREWDRIVER-5-5-/232981122955?oid=332787531838
The head is not a screwed-on cap, the metal is one piece.
The two pieces of wood are not held by rivets, but by means of protrusions, I think.

Here are a couple of recent finds that I thought the other PHARTS might like to see. The first came from an eBay seller in Canada and will go into my WW2 GMTK since it is a perfect "41-S-1385 Extra Heavy Duty Screwdriver 5" Blade"
The second is a true original HD Smith tiny screwdriver I found in the wild last weekend.
