These tiny pencil knives were manufactured by the Eagle Pencil Company.   Notice the middle one with the three digit phone number.

No kidding. It seems I have seen some at the least similar to these but had no idea.
A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.

Check the eBay prices, even in poor shape they go for $20 or more.

Yeah pretty neat, I wonder how many of those I've walked right past without noticing?
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

I know this is an old thread but I was wondering if the blade is spring loaded or if the blade "swings" and locks?
(Had to chuckle after reading the thread when I realized these could be used sharpen more than pencils. Newbies keep things humorous! (: )

Northwoods

Did some detective work, and that middle knife is from Gephart's Filling Station, Peabody, KS., just north of Wichita.
Lots of filling stations in Peabody:  11 of them between 1910 and the beginning of WWI.
Don't know when Gephart's was established, but it was destroyed by fire on 29 Dec., 1946.
The ORIGINAL Northwoods.

Yeah, nice! Something to watch for when shopping sales.  I also would like to know how the blade is extended?

Hold the knife opening side down and press the button on top. The knife blade falls out and locks into place.

To close it, hold the blade straight up, press the button and the knife blade unlocks and falls back into the knife.

Gravity opens and closes the knife.
