They don't appear to be...just stuck a magnet to them.   Just nicely polished and very well finished.

Interesting metrics.  Do we know who made them?  I like when they put 12 and 13mm on the same wrench.  You know you have an 8mm bolt but some 8mm bolts/nuts have 12mm hex head and other 8mms have 13mm heads.  With both sizes on one wrench it can save you some steps.
What kind of a place threw these things out?

Those metrics look sexy. What's with the not-quite-hex-shaped openings?
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

Ratcheting maybe.

no idea who made them, but i think that is a type of "ratcheting" wrench.   They're very smooth in the hand.   Wish i had found a full set.   :embarrassed:   I can't tell where i found them...might cause problems.

I found a similar double ratcheting open end wrench recently in SAE sizes. The thin, flat profile should be useful for a back-up wrench. Figured it was worth the $1.

I think I recall AA had a wrench called a Ratcho back in the early 19 teens with that broaching. So it's an old idea.

Always interesting, what people dump.  I found a full set of Whitworth open end wrenches on the top layer of a (lidless) garbage can in the neighborhood, back when we had a dog to walk daily.  My brother's been equipped to restore an older British car ever since.

At the very least, had I been that family, I'd have found the metal recycling bucket.  But I'm glad they left the set where I could find it.

Nice finds.
