Hello, I went to an estate sale today, former owner of the tools was a jeweler/watch repair guy. Lots of tools, everyone went home happy!! I found the drawknives on my 3rd trip through, the one at top is stamped Goldenberg, and the second one is stamped FAK Tiegel Gusstahl (crucible steel??) . I really like the caliper with the brass scale, no markings, does anyone know its use?? More smalls to bring in, 4 K-D staking sets (incomplete), will most likely end up with 2 complete. Oh, and a Unimat SL-1000 lathe to boot!!Regards, Lou

Hi Lou, very nice haul! Your calipers are apparently called "shear calipers". See the Bausch patent below for a different take on what appears to be the same thing.

Hello, Skip, Mike. Thanks, it was a fun sale. I went early Friday for the sign-up list, and I got the number 1 spot to go in. Mike after reading the patent info, and seeing the name Bausch, I started searching for optical calipers. There is a similar caliper listed on ebay Optical Lens Gauge/Caliper.Thanks again, Lou
