Just picked up this 1/4" Sears model 3 electric drill in a box with a Dunlap sticker. The drill fits perfect, it seems to be the original box. There is an identical one on eBay with the same Sears drill and Dunlap box.

Is this correct or should I be looking for a Dunlap drill for this box? It works of course, I even left on the $2.50 price tag.

1950's vintage perhaps?

The Dunlap box is certainly pre '60 since the brand was discontinued after that. The catalogs I was able to find really don't specify if the storage boxes were branded Dunlap or Craftsman. I suspect that your drill and box were purchased together with separate part numbers rather than a set. I didn't see your exact drill but they were changed year to year and not every year of catalog was available to me.

Dunlap is a name that Sears used, but was made by Atlas. This might be helpful.

Nice drill,  I recently bought one, near the same  only a DUNLAP drill in a dunlap box.  Box looks the same, drill is fitted perfectly.   Doesnt really looks to be used.

Tom Dunlap was the tool division sales and marketing manager in the thirties. His name was used on some of the budget tools the same as Companion was used.
