Spur of the moment purchase, $200 (did I get a deal or did I overpay, or was that the right price ??)
The old Globe Los Angeles vise was not part of the deal.

Just finished a preliminary cleaning and oiling

Each time you hear a click in the videos it's lowering the bit by a small amount. You can see the actuating arm in the close up in the second video.
The dial can be adjusted to a faster drop for wood or a slow drop for metal, or disengaged for full manual raising and lowering.

Very cool old tool !

Toward the upper end of the price range, but its in very nice shape
A place for everything and everything on the floor

I agree with  skipskip on price.

FYI   Often those drill presses get broken because the operator was using a dull drill bit and kept cranking the handle, which as you know keeps advancing the  bit.

Don't know anything about values, but that's one sweet machine and thanks for the videos.   Don't think i've ever seen one in operation before.
