Got this plier at auction last night. Think I have seen one before but didn't look at it closely. Kind of a novel design. It is patented by someone from Effingham Il which is only about 50 miles from home.Last patent is 1498488 by Fransis J Stallings. Guess it belongs in my collection Anyone know of similar three jaw design?

It is one of the more unique plier designs.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

Very nice, I would love to have that to use in my shop.

Does the center jaw self-adjust somehow, so you can grip non-symmetrical items?

jimwrench

To answer questions posed. center jaw is not compound and is not adjustable from side to side.
