I've come by the belief that whatever idea I get, there's others that did the same before me. Still, that doesn't make any less happy I thought of this.
I ran into trouble trying to remove these old 3/16" Internal Hex screws. One of em was especially frustrating. It just wouldn't free up. The Hex Bit just kept turning without the screw coming along too and walked on up out of there. Any replacement for this machine screw would be a compromise at best.
After endless WD-40 efforts, I finally got mad. Cursing about how I wish they'd had Torx Screws back then, it gave me a thought. I found a Torx Bit that partly fit in there. Gently tapped it in there snug. The Driver backed that screw right on out of there.
I tried the same with another I'd given up on awhile back. I'd even made a failed attempt with the Screw Extractor Kit. Tapped a Torx Bit in that hole. Got that same instant result, letting me know even it it isn't some internal drive like Hex, it would still work.
No matter how much you cut off, it's still too short
