I think I'll give Stoney first bid on this. Seems to be more in his realm.
Wonder if they pulled the golden spike with it ?

CAST IRON???? Evidently, they know nothing of prying tools and how they are made. Could be wrought iron, but I'm betting it is forged (on a very large steam hammer!).

I have one of the smaller ones out in the shed. I'd let it go for $2499.00 since it isn't so large!!!!

You would think he could work the shipping into that price and still make a small profit...

I think we could make a genuine RR  spike removal rod for under $1,000...

This fellow is a kick, He also has a $295 pair of ford pliers, a $950 piece of coal, and a $1895 book of QSL cards....
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

I went to an auction a few years back where they had a bunch of RR stuff.  If any of you remember, I posted pics of my haul on the old site.  I bought 6 or 7 of those for around 5.00 each and sold them all for 15.00 to 25.00 each.  There were about 40 more at that sale that I could have picked up for 2 or 3.00 each, but I was afraid I would ruin my truck springs.
