Got this 10 inch Plomb pipe wrench recently. Don't recall seeing a Plomb pipe wrench. Seems it was made by J P Danielson for Plomb. My question is I don't see the (Y-9-7) date code in Alloys Danielson code list. Did I miss it or does anyone know year it was made ?

The last digit should be the year, but you have to guess the decade. Since it's cast with a block typeface , it's > ~1940, so my initial guess would be 1947...

(But, was the walworth type 810 wrench available in 1957???, this would just squeak by before the Pendleton aquisition...)

If it was 1957 it would have been branded Proto instead of Plomb.

Since it was branded Plomb, and assuming the last digit is the year, it would be 1947, or earlier (i.e. 1937, 1927, etc).

I have the same pipe wrench except mine is marked Proto Los Angeles. I am betting yours was made in 1947.
