Just got registered to the site, posted a topic and thought I should put one here too.

32 and been teaching myself about tools for the past 15 years or so, mostly out of necessity. You know the situation, too broke to pay someone, but clever enough to get it done eventually. Started out not being able to change oil on anything or able to use a wrench to being able to rebuild the top end on a chevy and machining my own custom parts and fixtures. From building houses and remodeling to cars and machine tools, I love it.

Never met a tool I didn't like, some are just better than others.

Thanks for having me.

Howdy and welcome to the forum from Arkansas.

EDIT:  I HAVE met a few tools I didn't like.  One that comes to mind, a post hole digger where my dad put on 1-1/2" tubing for handles because we broke the wood out.
"FORGED IN THE USA" myself.  Be good to your tools!

Welcome from Texas! Self-taught out of necessity often makes a deeper impression.
In my case, it was a couple of British motorcycles that got me started.
